Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

This is our first experience with induction cooking. It has been a very easy transition. It is easy to use and very easy to clean up. I had heard that there could be humming noises with induction cooking. We have experienced very little of that

Does not last. 2 years from the time we bought it.

Submitted by Mark - 8/1/2017

It came from the builder when we bought the house 2 years ago. Now possible fuse broken. I guess that is why they only warranty it for 1 year, they know that it's not going to last long. Part with shipping cost around $85 +. Repair is ridiculously priced. Just find another brand that would last longer.

Beautiful and Easy to use Cooktop!

Submitted by Dibader - 7/17/2017

Bought the full suite of products, and love the induction cooktop! Easy to use, and love the fact that I can use cast iron (and all induction cookware) on top of a silpat! Prevents scratches, and makes clean up a breeze. It does tend to run hotter on the settings, but that's an easy adjustment. It's allowed me to get reacquainted with my cast iron. The cookware does need to be induction ready, other pans won't work. It did take me awhile to figure it all out, but instructions are great.

Very happy we made the switch to induction

Submitted by KACFLA - 7/11/2017

We have had this cooktop since March 2017 and couldn't be more happy. The boost feature makes boiling water a snap. The ability to instantly control the heat is as good as gas. Clean up is as easy as it gets on the glass top. We also purchased some Kitchenaid cookware and have not heard any buzzing noises. If you are thinking about induction don't hesitate to get it.

Submitted by Jennifer - 5/5/2017

If I could give this a zero star rating, I would. Literally the second time I used this cook top, the large burner made a explosive popping noise and fried the electrical panel. After contacting kitchen aid, all they will do is fix this under warranty. I could understand if I owned this appliance for some time. But this was the second use. In my opinion it should be completely refunded. And I would absolutely not buy the same brand. I'm now without a stove until the repair man can come in one week.

Don't waste your money on this false "Bridge Mode" cook top

Submitted by JerryJ - 3/17/2017

I bought the Kitchenaid Induction cook top thinking it was going to be amazing, and with a normal round pan that fits in the space of the burners, it is. Unfortunately for me, I specifically bought a model with the "Bridge Mode" for the burners, and quickly found out that Kitchenaid doesn't feel that people really plan to use this feature. The "Bridge Zone" doesn't actually have any way of heating the pan, so now I have an overpriced cook top that doesn't work as advertised. When I try to use the bridge mode with my griddle, the two round spots where the burners are heat just fine, but the space over the "Bridge Zone" is 200 degrees cooler than the burner zones making it completely worthless. I called Kitchenaid, and the representative I spoke with said it should work fine and scheduled a service call. When the service technician came out, he called their technical department and was told this is normal. If you are looking for a cook top without a Bridge Mode, get a cheaper model, because this isn't worth the extra money.

Remodeled Kitchen. While studying the latest cook tops we came upon induction cooking. Had really never heard of it. Did some studying. It is the best. Works great and our experience so far is just great. One thing that could be improved on is the difficulty in seeing the touch controls. They come pretty close to matching the color of the top. Hard for us to see. But then again we are seniors.

Have had it less than a month but love everything about it so far. Brings water to a boil in no time and extremely easy (and fast) to lower to a simmer - and keep it there!!!. Love the way the cook top cools down so quickly once it is turned off. I'm sure I will enjoy it even more as I use it more and become accustomed to what setting to use for different purposes.

Fast Accurate Cooking!

Submitted by Jenna - 2/14/2017

We purchased this appliance to replace an older electric unit that was going out. We had previously been debating on getting gas but now I am glad that we went with induction. It is truly the best of both worlds - FAST, responsive, accurate cooking without the risk of an open flame (we have a little one). The cooktop is easy to clean because spills don't get burned on, as heat is generated inside the pan. I've had beautiful results, no burns, and my kitchen looks cleaner longer. It's also simple to use and has a sleek look with no bulky buttons. I love it!

We remodeled our kitchen with ALL Kitchenaid black stainless appliances. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We wanted a simple, easy to clean cooktop that complemented our black stainless appliances. We had to special order the cooktop, nobody had it in stock. We didn't get a chance to see one in person before buying it, but we were not disappointed. It is gorgeous and performs AMAZING. This cooktop is the best cooktop I have EVER had. GREAT to cook on and cleans VERY EASY.

When shopping to replace our failed Jenn air cooktop, we were considering all of the leading brands-- GE, Bosch, Jenn air, and Kenmore. I read the reviews of many models within these brands, and found reviewers complaining of problems for all these brands. The leading problem was cookware compatibility. I went to cookware sites like WS, and read what readers shared regarding compatibility of various brands. I saw the fewest issues with kitchen aid. I was a little leery about buying another kitchen aid appliance, given the bad luck I had with one of their refrigerators. We've had the cooktop for a few months now and are very happy.

Bridging feature, induction cooktop

Submitted by Jim - 12/17/2016

At the recommendation of the salesman, we purchased a 4 element induction cooktop with largely based on the bridging (oval pan/griddle) feature. The bridging function is useless as there is no cookware manufacturer who sells an appropriately sized griddle. We were persuaded to buy this unit based on the flexibility that the bridging feature seems to provide. I would recommend you taking the time to do web research on user experience with the unit before purchasing. It seems unreasonable to create the bridging function and then not have a suitable griddle available.

30-inch 4 Element Induction Cooktop, Architect Series II

Submitted by Daisy - 11/27/2016

I've had this cooktop for about one month. We remodeled our kitchen and decided to go high end on new appliances. It's been a learning experience but so far really like the induction cooktop. We even purchased new cookwear because most of the old pots did not work with induction cooking. Really like the fact that the cooktop heat cools much faster when I need a lower temperature. We also replaced our refrigerator and dishwasher with Kitchenaid products. I would definitely recommend this cooktop.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2011 and purchased a double wall oven kebs208sss04, dishwasher Kuds30fxss0, Microwave hood vent khms2050sss and an induction cooktop Kicu500xbl00. We purchased these appliances from a local appliance shop that recommended this line of product because of their reputation. I have to say that we have been less than impressed with the quality. With the exception of the Microwave, we have had to have service on the other three products. the oven has twice failed, with error codes, as a result of steam that builds up near the control panel. I have had to replace dishwasher parts three times, the drawer glides, drawer height adjustment mechanism and the maceration screen. and now the induction cooktop has completely failed. We purchased a three-year extended warrante and now, 6 years in I am facing replacing the cooktop. does any manufacturer produce goods that will last 10-15 years anymore!

Great cooktop but ............

Submitted by Chef Scott - 10/31/2016

Bought this cooktop in December of 2014 when I remodeled my kitchen along with all other KitchenAid appliances. Worked great up until this morning when trying to boil water using the Boost setting. Normally the water heats up very quickly. However, after a few seconds I received a fault code F60 on all burners. Turned the unit off/on and no change. Unplugged the until for an hour, plugged it back in, no change. I have a service call tomorrow and now that it has been 22 months the unit is out of warranty. Everything I ready says that the control board needs to be replaced. Average cost $350 plus labor. I am NOT happy that this unit has failed so quickly. The old conventional cooktop worked fine and was 15 years old. Perhaps I shouldn't have changed it out. Unless I am pleasantly surprised tomorrow, the unit seems very unreliable.

Not as hot as I thought it would be

Submitted by Lynn - 8/22/2016

I shopped around a lot before choosing this brand and model. The burners him and click when maintaining a low temperature which drives me nuts. We have also had a very difficult time with cookware even though we've bought specialty pots for induction. Sizing is difficult for burner size and not all pots work on all burners. You can't use the power burst on 2 burners at a time either. I wouldn't buy it again.

Excellent Cooktop

Submitted by Sergio - 8/9/2016

I have never used a cooktop that can boil water so fast, neither gas or electric. Control over temperature is very fast and very consistent, from the hottest setting to just warm. The features are practical and uncomplicated to use, and clean up is as easy as it could possibly be. The only negative is that at high power my pans emit a low volume whining/screeching sound caused by the magnetic induction.

Buyer Beware!!!!

Submitted by Tennis for Life - 7/26/2016

I have owned various KitchenAid appliances for over 30 years and have been reasonably satisfied with their quality and performance until recently. When remodeling our kitchen in 2012, I purchased a 30" KitchenAid induction cooktop (KICU500XBL) so this review is from 4 years of experience. The initial cooktop stopped working within a couple of months of installation and after about 3 weeks of diagnosis and discussion/negotiation with Whirlpool, they finally relented and replaced the unit. Unfortunately, the replacement unit was not much better. It too stopped working shortly after installation, but fortunately was repairable. Based on the serviceman's recommendation, I purchased an extended 3-year warranty, which I highly recommend if you can afford it. Fast forward to today, and the unit stopped working again with no power or display. I had a serviceman diagnose the problem and he concluded that the display and power control boards need to be replaced to the tune of over $1,000 - less than 4 years old and kaput! So now I'm discussing and negotiating with Whirlpool again to determine if the unit is repairable or other sort of settlement, which will leave me without a functioning cooktop for at least another 2 weeks. The saga continues and I know that I will never buy another KitchenAid induction cooktop and probably any other KitchenAid appliance. I strongly suggest that you evaluate numerous manufacturer's induction cooktops before purchasing a KitchenAid.

Not So Sure About This One

Submitted by Smokie - 3/8/2016

I've used this cooktop for 2 months now. 1st off, know that you will need to buy new "induction" capable cookware if you don't have that from the previous cooktop you owned (meaning "magnetic" cookware). And you need to buy good stuff (like All Clad), not cheap. So there is a huge cost off the top. If that is good for you (it was for us) and you do buy this cooktop, you need to know about the "bridge" feature. It is a feature that Kitchenaid and most likely whatever Kitchenaid dealer sells it to you, will tout. The "bridge" feature is that two "surface cooking areas" of the same size on one side of the Cooktop will form a "bridge" connecting said two areas together when this feature is on, so you can use a griddle or grill on it. Nice idea, but the problem is the two surface cooking areas, when combined using the "bridge" feature, equals an oval shaped surface cooking area that is 15.25-inches by 7.25-inches. There is no induction capable griddle or pan made in the world that fits that size, plus griddles and grills usually come in a rectangular shape. I called Kitchenaid to ask if "they" made a griddle or grill that fits this "bridge" feature. Made sense, right? After some hold time, the agent came back and said that they did have one griddle that would fit the oval shape, but it was not "induction" capable. Huh? What good is that information to me? Nice. Not. So then I asked if the grill or griddle could be larger than the surface cooking area since most griddles or grills are bigger their "bridge" feature (and rectangular, not oval). She told me "No." Some info on size is found in 2 places in the owners manual. One place says, "The diameter of the pan's base should be equal to the size of the element. If the pan is too small, the burner does not sense the pan and will not activate" The other place says, "Choose the correct pan size for each surface cooking area. The diameter of the pan's base should correspond to the size of the surface cooking area." There is nothing that says that if your cookware (in this case a griddle or grill) is bigger than the surface cooking area, then the burner will not sense it and thus not activate. My question now is, "Was the agent wrong when she told me that if the pan was bigger, the burner would not work?" I have since written an email to Kitchenaid to ask this same question because the agent I spoke with seemed very tentative in her knowledge of "induction" cooktops. At the end of our conversation I then pressed the agent saying, "So, Kitchenaid created a "bridge" feature selling point, which our Kitchenaid appliance representative used with us, that cannot be used in "bridge" mode due to the fact that no one in the world makes an "induction capable" grill or griddle that fits the exact size of the "bridge?" And because of this, the "bridge" is useless, but useful to Kitchenaid (and the dealers of Kitchenaid Induction Cooktops)as a selling point." She sounded kind of sheepish as she told me, "Yeah, I guess." I added that it was really odd to me that the Kitcheaid Innovation team would create what at first seems like a really nice feature, but then not even tell the Kitchenade Cookware department about it to ask them to make a grill or griddle that fit. It actually would have been nicer if the Kitchenaid Innovation team had checked the standard size of most griddles/grills and made their "bridge" feature to fit. Hello! I'm still waiting to hear back from Kitchenaid, but in the meantime, they have sent me an email asking me to write reviews on the FIVE major appliances we bought from them. You'd think with us having bought FIVE, they'd be quick to respond especially since the email says,"We value your opinion and would love to hear your feedback." Really? I would not recommend any Kitchenaid Induction Cooktops with the "bridge" feature because unless they fix the problem, it's a waste of your money!

Need a Griddle for the Induction Bridge Feature

Submitted by Anne - 3/2/2016

So far I like the induction cook top, have had it a month and a half. I need a griddle to do pancakes that will fit the bridge burners. Would like it coated for easy cleanup. Please give me some suggestions to look at because I cannot find one anywhere even on your website. Speaking of that, I did see the picture of a griddle you have on your website with the induction cook top section that has vegetables grilling on the "bridge." It would appear the grill/griddle used is much bigger than the bridge, which only measures 15 1/4" by 7 1/4". Can the griddle be bigger than the bridge cooking surface because I don't believe there is a griddle or grill out there that fits the "well" touted "bridge" feature? I will rate this higher if you can produce a griddle to use on the "bridge."
